“YOU WIN!” is a series of paintings and objects inspired by early 2000s media and memories that feel familiar but slightly out of reach. “YOU WIN!“ is about the tension between remembering and being able to access the past.
HOMEBODY
A “Homebody” is a person who prefers staying at home rather than going out. The series began with an interest in the concept of hygge: a term from Danish which stands for a cozy atmosphere, the joy of life and the feeling of warmth, comfort and familiarity.
THIS IS AMERIKA
The focus of “THIS IS AMERIKA” is on some of the most dangerous and poorest areas of Chicago, but instead of showing them as they are, they are viewed through rose-colored glasses: imagined as how they could look in an ideal world.
